2. Editorial Independence

The Code does not interfere with day-to-day editorial operations, ensuring complete autonomy for journalists and editors.
3. Accuracy, Transparency, and Fairness
All news and information published must be accurate, well-sourced, and verified prior to publication. Pre-publication verification is mandatory.

Transparency in corrections: If any published content is found to be false or inaccurate, it will be promptly corrected, updated, or removed upon verification of the error.
The date of any update or correction will be clearly indicated in the news item.
4. Right of Reply
News reports making allegations against any individual or organization will include their version or comments, wherever possible.
If the concerned party’s response is received after publication, it will be incorporated appropriately.
On request, updates or clarifications from affected parties will be published, with the date of update clearly mentioned.
5. Professional Conduct and Ethics
All staff and contributors must adhere to accepted norms of journalistic ethics and maintain the highest standards of professional conduct.
Multiple layers of self-regulation and editorial oversight will be maintained, including internal review processes at the level of journalists and editors.
6. Take Down, Edit, or Delete Policy
If a news report or article is found to contain false or inaccurate information, and the concerned person or party provides correct information with appropriate identification and documentation, the relevant portion of the content will be edited or deleted promptly.
7. Ongoing Review
hurdangnews.in will continually monitor and review developments that may affect the freedom to gather and disseminate news, ensuring compliance with evolving standards and laws.
